Texas Outdoors Woman Network (TOWN) is an offshoot of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) program. Our goal is to enable outdoor oriented women to meet and build friendships with women who have similar interests.

Our mission is to provide all women the opportunity to learn and experience outdoor activities in natural surroundings through a non-threatening and supportive environment.

Our outings include various activities and occur on a regular basis. Please visit the calendar to check out what is happening next. You can join us for a couple of different outings before becoming a member. Our activities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Backpacking
  • Bird Watching
  • Camping
  • Day hiking
  • Kayaking/Canoeing
  • Fishing/Flyfishing
  • Horseback riding

Regular Events

Monthly Meeting
. Our agenda is typically the following: Gather at 6 - bring your brown bag dinner or a snack & socialize; 6:30-7:00 greetings, introductions, business, outings reports and planning; 7- 8 speaker; 8 - 8:15 adjournment and cleanup. Please check our calendar for activity details.

For February, our speaker is is Kelli Hardin who will continue her saga of through hiking the Appalachian Trail.

In January, our speaker was Sheri Green from Cruise One who presented general view of taking a cruise i.e., destinations, best time of the year for low rates, various cruise lines, etc.
